During his career, he has led numerous medical departments, including the departments of andrology and porphyria, as well as the phototherapy unit and the day clinic of the Dermatology Department at the University Hospital Duesseldorf.

He also served as deputy clinic director of the Dermatology Department at Duesseldorf University Hospital.
