DERMANOSTIC is a telemedicine service where you can send a problem with your skin to a dermatologist via app. You can use the service anytime (including weekends) and anywhere (including outside Germany)....
Download the DERMANOSTIC app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and register. You can enter your condition there. The app guides you step by step through all the points. Finally, you enter your patient data and pay. Your condition will then be assessed by one of our dermatologists and you will receive a doctor's letter with the diagnosis and treatment recommendation.
All requests are answered within 24 hours. In most cases, you will receive a response after only a few hours. As soon as the dermatologist asks you a question or requests new images, the 24 hours count starts again.
You will receive a detailed doctor's letter about the changes in your skin. This means that the condition and treatment recommendation are described precisely and understandably. Thus, you know which condition has been diagnosed and how it is to be treated. Furthermore, this document makes future communication with your family doctor easier. In addition, we provide you with our Skin Lexicon free of charge. You can get more detailed information here about your diagnosis if needed.
If our dermatologists recommend a prescription medication in the form of a cream or pills, we will provide you with the appropriate private prescription. We will send you the prescription either by post to your home or by fax to the pharmacy of your choice. In the case of faxing to the pharmacy, we will send the original prescription to the pharmacy for you by post. You will generally receive the prescription medication the next day.
In each doctor's letter, you will receive information on how long the treatment should last and when an improvement should occur. If complaints and symptoms persist, you are welcome to contact email@example.com. Alternatively, we recommend that you visit your doctor in person for further clarification.
Almost all cameras of today's smartphones are suitable for DERMANOSTIC. A total of three photos are taken from different distances and angles. The file formats JPG are uploaded. If the photo quality is not sufficient for the doctor, you will be informed via the app that new photos are needed. This ensures that the diagnosis is always based on good photo quality.
All doctors treating you at DERMANOSTIC are specialists in dermatology who are licensed in Germany and therefore have extensive experience in this field. We ensure a high quality of the diagnoses through our additional medical expert panel and weekly case conferences.
To ensure that you receive a diagnosis and treatment recommendation within the shortest possible time (max. 24 hours), your request is automatically assigned to the next available skin specialist. This way we can offer you the fastest possible service.
Studies show that most skin conditions are so-called visual diagnoses. This means that the doctor can make a diagnosis with just a few questions and a quick look at the changes on your skin. In any case, it is important that you yourself pay attention to whether other skin areas are also affected so that the skin condition can be correctly diagnosed. Please note that DERMANOSTIC is a complementary service to a personal visit to the doctor.
Some skin conditions can take a dangerous course. These include, for example, a pronounced allergic reaction with shortness of breath and/or clouding of consciousness. Extensive bleeding after an operation on the skin can also be an emergency. In such cases, personal treatment should take place immediately on site, so that our app cannot be used in emergencies.
The app and registration are free of charge. You can upload the photos and fill out the questionnaire. This is when the payment process starts. You can interrupt the service free of charge at any time up to this step.
Once the diagnosis has been made, a button is activated in the dermanostic app that you can use to conveniently request your private prescription from the app. We will send the prescription either by mail to your home (approx. 1-2 working days) or by fax to your desired pharmacy (immediately). You can then pick up the medication at the pharmacy as soon as the original prescription is available - we will take care of the prescription shipping for you.
In Germany, it is legally required that every patient treatment must be recorded with the patient's name, date of birth and place of residence. In the case of a prescription, it is necessary to write the patient's name and date of birth on the prescription.
All your data is processed and secured exclusively on servers in Germany (Frankfurt am Main) in accordance with data protection. The assessing dermatologist only receives the medical information relevant to him/her in order to make the diagnosis. Your personal data (name, date of birth, address, etc.) are made anonymous and stored separately in encrypted form. In the case of a prescription, this is filled out by hand by the doctor. This will change with the introduction of the e-prescription. You can find more information in our Data protection statement.
We handle the payment entirely via an external payment service provider. This means that we do not have access to your payment details and therefore do not store them. We only learn whether the payment has been made.
Protecting your data is our top priority. Therefore, we encrypt every data transmission via SSL/TLS. You can easily recognize the secured SSL connection - you will see a green lock in the address bar of your browser. Data transfers between the app and our server are always end-to-end encrypted in accordance with mandatory requirements from Google and Apple.
