Dr Schulte has been working as a specialist in dermatology since 1994. In 1995 he was appointed senior physician at the Dermatology Department of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. This was followed by the appointment as Deputy Director. He is also the former acting director of the operative skin tumour centre of the skin clinic of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.

His main areas of practice are dermatosurgery and dermatooncology. Together with the oral and maxillofacial surgeon and specialist in oral surgery, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. dent. Jörg Handschel, founded the Centre for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dermatology at the Klinik am Kaiserteich in Düsseldorf.

Dr Schulte has published more than 150 times in renowned specialist journals on dermatology.
