Dr Neumann has many years of experience as a specialist in dermatology with a focus on venereology (= venereal diseases). He has headed many medical departments during his career, including the departments for andrology and porphyria, as well as the light department and the day clinic of the skin clinic of the University Hospital Düsseldorf.

He was also deputy clinic director of the skin clinic at the Düsseldorf University Hospital.

Dr. Norbert Neumann has published several times in numerous specialist journals. He mainly published on light dermatoses (diseases caused by UV radiation) and andrology (men's health).
