Prof. Frank completed his medical studies at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen and at the University of Cologne. He completed his specialist training in Aachen and New York.

Prof. Dr. Frank holds a professorship in dermatooncology at the University Hospital Göttingen and is a senior physician in the Clinic for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology there. He is an internationally renowned expert on genetic skin diseases (genodermatoses), especially in the field of hereditary skin tumour diseases and porphyrias.

With more than 250 scientific publications and as the author of numerous renowned textbooks such as Braun Falco's "Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology", Bolognia's "Dermatology" and Harrison's "Internal Medicine", he is one of the leading national and international dermatologists.
