Dr. Schulte has been working as a specialist in dermatology since 1994. In 1995, he was appointed senior physician at the Dermatology Department of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, followed by his appointment as Deputy Director. He also served as Acting Director of the Operative Skin Tumor Center at the Dermatology Department of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
His main focus is in dermatosurgery and dermato-oncology. Together with oral and maxillofacial surgeon and specialist dentist in oral surgery, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. dent. Jörg Handschel, Dr. Schulte founded the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dermatology at the Klinik am Kaiserteich in Düsseldorf.
Dr. Schulte has published over 150 articles in renowned dermatology journals.
